The League of Women Voters of Freeport will sponsor a program at the Public Library Tuesday April 23 at 6:30 pm. Dr. Anna Alvarado, District #145 Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Rocio Del Castillo, Assistant Superintendent for Bilingual Education for District # 145, and Cheri Heise, Coordinator of Literacy and ESL Programs for HCC, will speak about the programs being implemented to address the challenges that have arisen due to the arrival in our community of a growing number of English Language Learners.
